== Geography == The surface of Ceres is heavily cratered, with Occator Crater being the most notable. This large impact site is famous for its bright spots, with deposits of sodium carbonate within it. Other prominent craters include Kerwan and Yalode, which create significant topographical variation across the surface. Ceres has surface features like ridges and scarps that hint at past geological activity. These formations create jagged, uneven terrain that separates the smoother plains from the deep basins. Ahuna Mons is the most prominent mountain on Ceres, believed to be a cryovolcano. Its steep, solitary structure contrasts with the otherwise relatively flat surroundings, making it a key geographical landmark.
