Icarus Archway
The Icarus Archway, named in honor of fallen colonist and ACC Constable Icarus Sol, stands as a testament to humanity's ambitious expansion, its construction spanning the years 2070 to 2171. The project began as a bold vision from Stroitel Ventures, whose engineers proposed a structure that would both symbolize humanity's reach for the heavens and serve as a functional cornerstone of the growing Artemis colony.
The construction materials themselves tell a story of colonial cooperation and resourcefulness. Local mining operations, run by the dedicated colonists of Artemis, provided the bulk of the raw materials. The innovative alloys developed during this period would later become standard in architecture throughout the city and beyond.
What many consider most remarkable about the Icarus Archway is that its completion in late 2171 came during one of the most challenging periods of early colonial development. Despite supply chain disruptions from xerolith activity and growing civil unrest as citizens grappled with developing a new government, the project continued under the steadfast leadership of Stroitel Ventures' director, Jaskov Millensky. The finished structure served as a symbol of what humanity could achieve through determination and collaboration, its soaring lines drawing the eye upward just as humanity's ambitions drew them to the stars.
