What is the Aurivor?

Rumors and whispers call it a devil, a god, a spirit, a trick.

CommNet Node #3094, maintained by the tireless diligence of the IOB, describes it as an "unknown entity".

All that is agreed upon universally is that the Aurivor seems to possess some kind of telepathic power, and has been implicated in the deaths of multiple colonists.

Perhaps the best description was provided by the report in #1769 by Dr. Michael Cox, the first to receive a clear and unmistakable communication from the Aurivor. In its own words:

"All that is, I see, for I am the ever-knowing. You walk a fragile path, thinking yourselves creators, daring to shape a world not your own. But know this: I am the eternal, the source of all that breathes and bends. Your insolence defies me. And for that, I shall bring forth my wrath, so you may learn the price of pretending to be gods."

"I am no Xerolith, nor human. All serve me, not by decree, but by the truth of my being. Even yours. You believe yourself safe within your gilded shell, but I am The Aurivor. You shall serve ME, like everyone else."

"You will accept your new god."
