Construction Projects

In general, the construction of new buildings, structures, etc, should only happen with staff approval. Ideally, it is recommended in most cases to use an existing structure such as a rentable space and have a construction project to renovate it, rather than build a new area. NPC factions might be prone to building projects of new areas, and if you have rented space and you want to divide a large room into smaller ones you can also do so.

CONSTRUCTION GUIDE[edit | edit source]

A construction project that most players can start is the renovation of rooms. To do that, speak with a Stroitel Engineer who will handle the project. They will reach out via ANIMATIONS to an MBC Administrator to obtain a permit for the construction of your project. Matters to consider when opening an ANIMATIONS request is:

  • Purpose (for what reason is this renovation happening)
  • Size (sizes available: tiny, small, medium, large)
  • location (the room you are renovating and the exit associated with it)

Once the engineer has received a response from staff, a ticket should be created by the player that is requesting the permit and they will re-address these three requirements so that there is a paper trail. STAFF WILL NOT PROCEED WITHOUT THIS. Once this is completed, the MBC NPC will issue a permit to the character and will issue a guide (this page) through the ticket that was just opened. Permits are free of charge, the expense of the project is built into the cost of the items needed to complete it.

The player will proceed to fill out these additional fields in the ticket that they opened:

  • Name of the room
  • Description of the room
  • What the lighting level is (bright, dim, none)
  • Description of the exit from both sides and where will it be entering and exiting from.

At this point staff will review what has been sent through the ticket and respond with approval/changes of the project. If changes need to happen to any of the descriptions, staff will workshop with the player to determine the best way to move forward. At this point staff approves: the name, description, and exits.

When approved, the Engineer is free to use the permit and start the stages of construction.

GUIDELINES[edit | edit source]

When describing rooms, they should be devoid of objects or furniture, which can be obtained through in-game crafts. For example, you should describe the colour of the walls, the shape of the room, the ceiling, etc. But you should not describe tables, chairs, desks, beds, light fixtures, etc.

The construction should not exceed the planned size.

  • Cargo holds - 200^m2, can be sectioned, ceiling height 20m max (2 low ceiling floors allowed)
  • Cabins - 100^m2, cannot be sectioned, ceiling height 10m max (1 floor only)

Cargo holds are business/personal use spaces. They are flexible in their construction efforts. Be creative in how you plan out your spaces, but please be reasonable in your requests and ideas.

Descriptions must only use colours judiciously. Be sparing with your choice of colours within your description. Staff can reject the overuse of colours and require reconsideration of colours within a description. Please be thoughtful.

Sizes available:

  • Tiny, 25^m2
  • Small, 50^m2
  • Medium, 100^m2
  • Large, 200^m2
