Merlin

Merlin is the name of a multifunctional, advanced firmware capable of processing a wide range of materials, for the recycling, semi-assisted design and automated tailoring of various piece of clothing.

Access & Availability

Devices that utilize the Merlin firmware are quite easy to find, and generally sold in the colony.

Complexity

The firmware allows for the automated processing and tailoring of cloth. However, it provides an interface for the design of the pieces; the complexity comes from this, with the job of the tailor limited to drafting the best possible designs.

Discovery

The Merlin firmware has been developed in Planet Earth, and was brought to Artemis by the Multilateral Base Control.

At first limited to a group of Engineers, they have begun making their own replicas of the firmware, and the technology is finding wide-spread usage in the colony.
