In the latter half of the year 2070, Colonists Raymond Jackson and Roark Kenrick Mackay developed the first recipe for Artemis’ favorite alcohol, potato vodka.
The potatoes were cubed, boiled, mashed, then fermented with yeast for two weeks in a lidded sterilized bucket rigged with a simple double-bubble airlock crafted from tubing. The fermented liquid was then heated in a still made from a modified cooking pot and copper tubing to separate the alcohol vapor from other compounds. After being put through a filter of crushed charcoal made with spent plant stems from hydroponics, the batch was freely served to colonists and entirely consumed within hours.
