Construction Projects are projects that anyone can take. This system is prone to be revamped soon, but in the mean time this page should offer guidelines related to how construction projects are handled.
Scope[edit | edit source]
In general, the construction of new buildings, structures, etc, should only happen with staff approval. Ideally, it is recommended in most cases to use an existing structure such as a rentable space and have a construction project to renovate it, rather than build a new area. NPC factions might be prone to building projects of new areas, and if you have rented a space and you want to divide a large room into smaller ones you can also do so.
A construction project that most players can start is the renovation of rooms. To do that, open a Discord ticket and explain the scope of your project. Once the scope has been approved, you will be spawned a construction site that you will own. You should also start to workshop your descriptions with staff.
Guidelines[edit | edit source]
When you describe rooms, they should be devoid of any objects or furniture. That should be obtained through in-game crafts.
For example, you should describe the color of the walls, the size of the room, the shape of the room, the ceiling, etc. But you should not describe tables, chairs, desks, beds, etc.
Then, when building objects for the room, the following fields can be described:
- Short description: (eg a long table) basis for the keywords for the object.
- Long description: How the item will appear in the room. Use @ to insert the short description. For example: @ is set in the centre of the room.
- Description: What shows when you look at the object, eg this sturdy long table is made of iron and looks very heavy.
Color[edit | edit source]
Short descriptions cannot contain color. Objects integrated into the room will be automatically highlighted. Generally color should be reserved to main descriptions.
